Job Description:
The Licensed Substance Use Counselor will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive treatment services to patients enrolled in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder. This includes:
- Providing individual and group counseling services to promote coping techniques and symptom management skills.
- Conducting initial assessments and evaluations to determine eligibility for services.
- Completing biopsychosocial assessments and establishing individualized treatment plans with each patient.
- Responding to patient grievances and complaints as needed.
- Developing aftercare and discharge plans.
- Collaborating with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate patient progress and develop individualized plans of care.
Requirements:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required.
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is essential.
- Demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients with substance use disorders.
- Able to collaborate effectively with a compassionate and knowledgeable counseling team.
- Familiarity with local community drug trends, signs and symptoms of narcotic overdose, and psychosocial implications of addiction.
