What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor in Training position at BayMark Health Services?
The Counselor in training will assist patients with medically assisted treatments and provide techniques for managing opioid addiction. This involves conducting individual and group sessions to aid with crisis management and coping strategies, as well as evaluating patients' progress during counseling and collaborating with medical professionals to achieve overall treatment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group counseling services at regularly scheduled intervals, coordinating all services throughout treatment.
- Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of counseling services provided to patients.
- Conduct initial assessments and evaluation interviews to determine service eligibility.
- Develop and review treatment plans with each patient.
- Complete bio-psychosocial assessments.
- Establish aftercare and discharge plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements
- A Louisiana CIT, RAC, or CAC certification, or a Bachelor's degree in Social Services with a willingness to obtain a CIT.
- A Louisiana license as an LAC, LRC, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT is preferred.
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is beneficial.
- Must demonstrate a non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward patients.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a counseling team.
- Satisfactory background check and drug screen results.
