Job Description
A detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse is needed to dispense prescribed medications in a treatment team setting. The dispensing nurse shares responsibility for maintaining dispensing equipment, managing medication inventory, and reporting patient treatment information.
The ideal candidate works cooperatively with supervisory counseling staff and demonstrates a non-judgmental and accepting attitude toward individuals with Substance Use Disorder.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer daily medication to patients according to program policy and medical protocols.
- Operate automated dispensing systems, calibrate pumps, and maintain dispensing equipment.
- Produce and maintain records and reports as required by company protocol, federal, and state regulations.
- Ensure compliance with security standards for controlled substance distribution and storage.
- Order, receive, and stock medication according to DEA and state regulations (if granted Power of Attorney).
- Provide daily patient assessments.
- Assist the nursing supervisor in orienting new nursing staff.
- Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Current and good-standing LPN/LVN license in the State of Ohio.
- Current CPR certification required.
- EMR and computer proficiency desired.
- Experience in chemical dependency preferred; self-motivated and directed, with a positive attitude toward individuals in substance abuse treatment.
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
