As a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor, you will have the opportunity to directly support individuals enrolled in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorders. You will use evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed approach to help patients develop individualized coping techniques and symptom management skills, empowering them to improve their quality of life. By collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you will be an integral part of helping your patients achieve long-term recovery and a better future.
What You’ll Do:
• Provide individual and group counseling services at regularly scheduled intervals based on patient needs and state regulations.
• Conduct initial assessments and evaluations to determine eligibility for services.
• Complete comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments to help tailor treatment plans.
• Develop personalized treatment plans with your patients and ensure their progress is reviewed regularly.
• Address any patient grievances and complaints, fostering an environment of support.
• Assist in developing aftercare and discharge plans to ensure continuous recovery.
• Perform other duties assigned by your supervisor to enhance patient care.
What We’re Looking For:
• Licensure & Certification: One of the following credentials is required:
o Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
o Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
o Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Clinical Social Worker (CSW)
o Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA)
o Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA)
• Prior experience working with individuals affected by chemical dependency is preferred.
• A positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude towards patients.
