Job Description:
You will work with a growing team of scientists and engineers to build a demonstration of concept systems and quantum networking prototypes. Based in person in Santa Monica, CA.
Responsibilities
Provide tangible solutions to engineering challenges in multiple R&D projects.
Assist scientists in building hardware systems for the demonstration of concept or prototyping.
Analyze and interpret experimental results and propose improvement solutions.
Lab device management and maintenance.
Basic qualifications
PhD in physics, optics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or related field;
Or master with 5 YOE in quantum, optics, or photonics industry;
5 years of hands-on experience with quantum optics experiments;
Experience with fiber and free-space optical and photonics experiments;
Experience with automating hardware systems including laser source, control hardware, and detectors;
Familiar with either Python or Matlab;
Basic understanding of quantum information concepts;
Decent research record with proven experience in solving engineering challenges in a full development cycle of hardware prototyping;
Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following matter qubits: trapped ion, cold atom, color center, transmon, photonic qubits;
Experience with photonics design and fabrication;
Experience with long-distance quantum networking experiments;
Experience with optomechanical design and system design.
Salary : $40 - $45
