Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Controls Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control systems. Your expertise in PLC systems, electrical drawings, and control system design will be crucial in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical control systems for industrial/renewable machinery and equipment, incorporating customer requirements, UL standards, and cost/time sensitive restrictions.
- Create electrical drawings, including schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams, using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Select appropriate electrical components, based on system requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to review and approve electrical components and equipment for compatibility with control system designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control system issues during development, testing, and production stages.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the customer or Bayou Construction during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems.
- Work with Document Control on system designs, specifications, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Controls Designer.
- Strong knowledge of electrical control system design principles, PLC systems, UL 891 Switchboards, and industrial automation.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD for creating electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with UL508a, UL891, and NNNY Hazloc standards
- Understanding of electrical components, wiring, and electrical safety practices.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical information clearly.
- Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy, precision, and compliance in electrical control system designs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
- Prefer College degree or technical degree.
