Job Summary:
The Safety Field Technician is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations at project sites. This position involves conducting safety inspections, enforcing safety protocols, delivering training, and supporting the development of a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits on-site to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Monitor and enforce safety policies and procedures to reduce risks and promote a culture of safety.
- Respond to incidents, investigate root causes, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident logs, and training records.
- Provide on-site safety training, toolbox talks, and guidance to workers on proper safety practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans.
- Inspect and maintain safety equipment, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Communicate safety-related updates, findings, and recommendations to the Safety Manager and project leaders.
- Stay current on safety regulations and best practices to adapt protocols accordingly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; additional certifications in occupational safety (e.g., OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, or similar) preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, risk assessment techniques, and incident investigation.
- Strong observational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficient with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) for documentation and reporting.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
