What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Banker position at BayPort Credit Union Brand?
The primary purpose of this position is to identify and develop relationships with high net-worth members and then provide banking services with the goal of managing their wealth. This is accomplished by gathering and evaluating information about members’ financial circumstances, making recommendations to aid in meeting their financial goals and needs; and executing solutions and service to the member with a focus on maintaining a strong relationship between the member and the credit union.
Responsibilities Include:
- Partner with Executive management, Mortgage operations, Branch operations, and BayPort Financial, LLC in order to identify high net worth individuals for membership with BayPort Credit Union.
- Actively make outbound calls to prominent individuals or businesses to attract new high net-worth members to BayPort Credit Union.
- Responsible for identifying potential new clients and working with them to build up a relationship with the goal of managing their wealth.
- Provide information in-person, via email, other written correspondence, and over the telephone to future and current members regarding credit union services or policies
- Assist members in opening an account(s) to best meet their needs, and answering any inquires regarding existing accounts.
- Develop loan packages for credit review as well as underwriting.
- Process loan applications, explain conditional loan decisions with the respective interest rates and terms, contact members to follow up on loan requests, educate members on Loan Protection Products and action steps.
- Maintain and update knowledge of banking products and services in order to recommend meet members’ needs.
- Closely monitor accounts to ensure that the accounts are behaving positively and meeting the members’ needs.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge: Thorough understanding of financial institutions, credit union practices, policies, procedures, and regulations. Understanding of service culture with proven relationship building success. Thorough knowledge of the Company’s products, history, and organizational objectives.
Required Education:
- Associates degree or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience with high net worth individuals or related field in financial advising
- Ability to obtain series 6 and 63 license and Life and Health insurance licenses
Required Experience:
- 5-7 years of Credit Union or banking experience
- Proven Sales and Service background
- Outbound sales/service calls

Other Requirements:
- Must provide one’s own mode of transportation for employment purposes. Must transport oneself to assigned Credit Union locations. Must maintain one’s own automobile insurance. Must sustain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record; provided by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- On-call availability which may include work hours during posted credit union holidays, weekends and weeknights.
