What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Service Representative position at BayPort Credit Union Brand?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SUPPORTING DUTIES:
- Manages and responds to a high volume of telephone inquiries from members, ensuring an exceptional member experience.
- Performs cash handling transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments.
- Resolves inquiries, educates, and answers questions regarding all BayPort Credit Union’s products and services.
- Provides information in-person, via email, other written correspondence, and over the telephone to future and current members regarding credit union services or policies.
- Manages requests from members for transfers of shares to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, share certificate transactions, line of credit advances, and any other requests received from members.
- Researches and resolves routine member questions, problems, and complaints.
- Facilitates loan application process; collects necessary documentation and information.
- Assists prospective and current members through account opening process.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Required Education: Four-year high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience: Previous teller, member services, or loan- related experience.
Preferred Experience: Previous call center or heavy phone experience.
Required Knowledge: General credit union operational procedures to include cash handling, teller job-related duties, member services and loan processes and procedures.
Skills and Abilities:

- Accurate cash handling skills, ability to operate a PC, adding machine, credit card and check image equipment, calculator, currency counter and other job-related office equipment.
- Strong customer service skills to include telephone skills, well-organized and attentive to detail.
- Ability to manage a high call volume while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills to include telephone skills e-mail/Internet skills, strong data entry skills, ability to operate a PC including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Exhibits proper typing, problem-solving, and organizational skills and possess the ability to multi-task.
