What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advisor, Business Optimization position at Bayport Polymers, LLC?
Business Optimization Analytics and Reporting:
- Conduct periodic analysis and reporting on production volumes, inventories, product costing, and profitability across markets to support decision making.
- Identify performance gaps, analyze root causes, and propose solutions to address deviations from targets.
- Develop and analyze scenario plans to optimize production, inventory, and sales volumes, and track progress on implemented scenarios.
- Perform simulations to support floor price setting, sales margin forecasts, and volume allocation optimization.
- Prepare and deliver presentations with actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Continuously enhance analytical tools to improve decision-making processes.
Business Optimization Processes:
- Support integrated planning processes such as business plans, product balancing, product segmentation, portfolio reviews, inventory management, and S&OP.
- Contribute to the improvement of business optimization processes to ensure efficiency and scalability.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage internal or cross-functional improvement initiatives and projects.
- Plan and coordinate activities for regular or ad hoc meetings, ensuring follow-ups and successful implementation of required actions.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, economics, or management.
Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within Baystar, comparable business or consulting company
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong analytical abilities with a proven track record of converting data into actionable insights.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong business writing capabilities.
- In-depth understanding of the ethylene-polyethylene markets, applications, and products in North America.
- Familiarity with ethylene-polyethylene manufacturing processes and financial profitability analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced proficiency in analytical tools (Power BI, SAP analytics cloud)
- Proven experience with end-to-end process development and improvement
PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the incumbent to:
- Follow safety requirements for the role
- Wear required PPE (eye protection, noise protection, etc.) when inside plant environment, or where directed by signage

- Walk safely in and around industrial areas
