Medication Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe administration of medications to patients in various care settings, including acute care, home care, and memory care environments. This position requires a strong understanding of physiology and anatomy, as well as a commitment to providing high-quality caregiving.

Duties

• Administer medications to patients according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
• Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient responses.
• Assist with tube feeding and other specialized care procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide support in medical office tasks, including documentation and patient communication.
• Uphold safety and hygiene standards while working with patients in various settings.

Requirements

• Previous experience in acute care, home care, or memory care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of physiology and anatomy is essential for understanding patient needs.
• Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Certification or training related to medication administration is a plus.
• Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
