Leasing Consultant (Greater Chicagoland - 2 locations)

Leasing Consultants have the exciting job of helping people find their perfect apartment home!

Bayshore Properties currently has an opening for a motivated and enthusiastic Leasing Consultant to join our team supporting two properties in the northwest suburbs of Chicago:

• 21 Kristin - a 357-unit market rate apartment community located in Schaumburg, IL.
• Stonebridge - a 586-unit market rate apartment community located in Arlington Heights, IL.

This position will manage the leasing/sales process from start-to-finish. You will create and build relationships with potential residents, conduct property tours, and find new & exciting ways to market your property. You will also assist the property manager with resident relations; including assisting with the application and move-in process, any issues the residents might have while living with us and conducting lease renewals.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent sales skills in person / over the phone, customer focus and be able to work weekends.

Leasing Consultant Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service to residents and prospective residents, and maintain a positive attitude
• Provide a professional and engaging experience for prospects while touring the apartment homes and community
• Maintain consistent resident retention with a focus on renewal of leases and resolution of resident conflicts and problems
• Develop a strong rapport with residents, and be able to enforce community rules and regulations as necessary
• Process applications and lease renewals, and complete all related paperwork accurately and correctly
• Proactively manage sales, outreach, and lead generation, converting leads into sales
• Work with the maintenance department to ensure apartment turnovers are completed on time
• Recognize opportunities for problem resolution and establishing good customer relations
• Recognize trends in customer issues and advise management

Leasing Consultant Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required, a college degree is preferred
• Previous customer service experience, leasing and/or sales experience is preferred; apartment industry or real estate experience, a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Customer-focused approach
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment
• Knowledge of property and lead management software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
• Valid Drivers License with reliable transportation

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and carry up to 20 pounds;
• Alternate sitting / standing; keyboarding
• Bend/stoop, climb stairs, walking consistently during shift
• Has normal range of vision, hearing and speech

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
