If so, Bayshore Veterinary Clinic in Menominee, MI is looking for a part time to full time Doctor of Veterinary Medicine to join our practice with the possibility of a buy-in and/or buy-out.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion AND compassion for animal care and welfare, providing high-quality medical treatment to animals. As a Veterinarian, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating animal health issues, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper care practices. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. The candidate must have a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and a veterinarian license to practice in Michigan (drug licensing and other licenses and memberships can be negotiated).
Compensation will be based on experience and is negotiable. The position can be salaried or production salaried and is competitive for the economic area we live in. Benefits would include simple IRAs, employee discounts, and a continuing education package--but more importantly, a slower pace that is not based on production; so you get to know your clients, your patients and your community.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health status.
- Diagnose illnesses and injuries using veterinary techniques and laboratory tests.
- Develop treatment plans that may include medications, surgeries, or other interventions.
- Perform surgical procedures as necessary with precision and care.
- Administer vaccinations and preventative care to promote animal health.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' health and treatment options.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high-quality care.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine through continuous education.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy.
- Proficient in veterinary terminology relevant to diagnosis and treatment.
- Experience in animal handling, including dogs and other domestic pets.
- Familiarity with current laboratory procedures for diagnostic testing.
- Veterinary critical care experience.
- Medication administration proficiency
- Ability to perform animal catheterization when required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with pet owners and team members.
- Compassionate approach towards animal care and handling.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex medical cases effectively.
