Fire Sprinkler Apprentice
Fire sprinkler apprentices assist technicians in the installation of fire suppression systems within new and existing structures. Fire sprinkler apprentices learn to install, cut, thread, and groove sprinkler pipes, connectors, and sprinkler heads in accordance with NFPA code and local standards. Additionally, fire sprinkler apprentices learn to read blueprints, complete change orders, and perform safety duties as part of daily course of work.
Training: Fire sprinkler apprentices must enter the apprenticeship training program within 1 year of hire date. The training program consists of weekly classes and on-the-job training. Successful graduates become certified fire sprinkler technicians. Sprinkler apprentice program is a Department of Labor recognized apprenticeship. Successful graduates are awarded the "Technician" classification.
Pay: As an apprentice, you will EARN while your LEARN. Our apprenticeships are full-time positions with access to company benefits. Apprentices who successfully progress in the program receive pay raises after reaching each level.
Career: Beginning as a fire sprinkler apprentice provides you with upward mobility and promotion. Technicians can become foreman, superintendents, and service operations managers. There are many cross-over career opportunities in sales, inspection, project management, and sprinkler design.
Requirements: Minimum of 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and a dependable means of transportation to the employer’s place of business and/or job site. Ability to work well with others, drug testing, background check, and motor vehicle report required.
