What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floral Designer and Shop Assistance position at Bayside Floral?
We are looking to hire an upbeat, positive individual to assist an owner operated shop with the daily tasks it takes to make a growing retail gift/flower shop run smoothly in the Lake Minnetonka area/ Customer service skills is a must (both over phone and with clients in store.) Daily tasks may include: Designing of orders, processing of incoming flowers, packaging arrangements and plants, making deliveries with company van, taking customer orders correctly, plant maintenance and general overall maintaining the cleanliness and tidying of the shop. All of us share in all the duties to make our small group run smoothly. Room to grow your floral design skills for the right person. ( We send our staff to classes regularly) Must also be friendly/ comfortable with dogs, we have 3 canine staff members as well.
This is not a floral designer only position. Again, we all do everything. There are no princesses. We currently have an owner/lead designer of 30 years in house. We are looking for that perfect fit of somebody that can create with hustle and enjoys the process of a REAL FLOWER SHOP.
Currently looking for that awesome individual that can work Monday- Friday alternating Saturdays. (extra day off during week if working Saturday) A full time 40 hour per week position may be available in the coming months as we are possibly acquiring another location. At times you may be flying solo and must have initiative to keep yourself busy and productive. Sitting on your phone is NOT ALLOWED.
Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs no current lifting restrictions. We would like applicants to possess a positive attitude and imagination. (No primadonnas or drama in the building allowed) Two weekends a month are required. More hours can/ will be expected/available during holidays and employee vacations- Must have a clean and safe driving record for use of the company vehicle and a reliable vehicle or transportation to get to/from job. (We are not on a reliable busline)

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
