Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented RV Technician to join our team. As an RV Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining recreational vehicles (RVs) to ensure they are in safe and functional condition. You will work on a variety of RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for working with RVs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, and mechanical.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various RV components, including heating, suspension, appliances, and interiors.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure RVs are roadworthy and safe.
- Install new equipment and systems as needed, including air conditioners, refrigerators, generators, and electrical systems.
- Provide estimates for repairs and maintenance, ensuring customers understand the scope of work and costs involved.
- Work closely with customers to understand their RV concerns and provide expert advice and solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Stay up to date with new RV technology and repair techniques through training and certification programs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in RV technology is preferred but not necessary.
- Proven experience as an RV Technician or in a similar role within the automotive, marine, or repair industry.
- Strong knowledge of RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC.
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex issues with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a variety of conditions (both indoor and outdoor).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including temperature extremes.
Work Environment:
- Workshop and outdoor environments.
- May require occasional travel to customer locations or RV parks.
