Salary: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour (based on certification, experience, and skills)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 5:45 AM to 12:45 PM
Saturday only, 06:45 AM – 09:15 AM (Rotating schedule)

Bayside Recovery LLC, a private Behavioral Health Care outpatient facility committed to delivering comprehensive substance abuse treatment services, we are seeking certified Substance Abuse Counselors to join our dynamic team. As a leading provider of Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD-OPT), we are making an impact on the lives of those in our community suffering from opioid and other substance use disorders. Position Overview:
As a Substance Abuse Counselor at Bayside Recovery, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive services to individuals struggling with opioid or other substance use disorders. You will be a vital member of our organization championing the recovery, advancement, and overall lifestyle skills of our clients. Our Counselor will need to demonstrate the ability to administer fervent counseling and have a fundamental knowledge of interventional substance abuse treatment. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of counselors, nurses, and physicians, you will oversee case management to help clients navigate the challenges of achieving long-term recovery. This is purposeful and meaningful work and the rewards you will see as these individuals recover are indescribable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a comprehensive client assessment (Intake Assessment) identifying clinical provision, the intensity of care using ASAM criteria, and other treatment services needed.
- Identify core underlying issues that may be contributing to a history of substance abuse
- Develop individual treatment plans based on the clients' needs and oversee the progress, ensuring the clients' advancement.
- Assist clients in identifying and overcoming obstacles in their recovery.
- Assist clients with coping skills and strategies for overcoming addiction.
- Facilitates both individual and group therapy sessions.
- Provide case management and coordinate care services.
- Assist clients to develop essential life-skills necessary for a productive lifestyle
- Monitors and provides feedback on clients’ progress regarding their recovery.
- Develop client transition and discharge plans.
- Effectively maintain caseloads, ensuring all records are continuously up-to-date and properly documented.
- Ensure timely management of discharge summaries and serve as the liaison for client referrals.
- Maintain federal regulations for clients’ confidentiality.
- Participate in weekly clinical supervision sessions with the Clinical Supervisor.
- Attend training and staff meetings as required.
- Complete additional duties assigned by the Clinical Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
Our Counselors must hold certificate, credentials or licensure from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. We are seeking counselors with the following credentials:
- CAC-AD, CSC-AD, or AD-T
- High school diploma or equivalent, and higher education
- Substance abuse counseling experience (Preferred)
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of substance abuse and addiction.
- Proficient in developing comprehensive documentation.
- Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
- Positive and empathetic attitude.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in using computers and clinical/patient management software
- Experience with Netalytics/Methasoft a plus.
Reporting Structure:
The Certified Addictions Counselor will report on site. While Bayside does have some remote work flexibility, only when it is feasible and benefits both the employee and the organization. The Certified Addictions Counselor reports to the designated Operations Manager and Clinical Supervisor.
