Role Overview
The Head of Operations leads and manages all aspects of sod delivery, installation, trucking logistics, and service execution. This role will build scalable systems, optimize daily operations, and drive performance through leadership, process discipline, and customer satisfaction.
This person will also oversee the launch and integration of our Turf Care service line.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Execution
- Serve as a key leader on the company’s Leadership Team
- Own and lead the Logistics & Install Operations Department
- Lead, manage, and hold teams accountable
- Provide clear direction and drive a strong meeting rhythm and scorecard
- Recruit and maintain a pool of qualified subcontractors (trucking & install)
Operational Oversight
- Oversee fulfillment: order entry, harvest scheduling, routing, and install scheduling
- Oversee delivery and install subcontractor coordination
- Monitor and optimize workflows for delivery and installation
- Ensure on-site project execution meets standards for quality, timing, and budget
Process & Efficiency
- Design scalable systems to enable growth and streamline operations
- Implement preventative maintenance routines across department resources
- Leverage software tools for scheduling, routing, and performance tracking
- Build efficient workflows across all aspects of department
Customer Experience & Quality
- Serve as escalation point for customer complaints and site-level resolutions
- Deliver on our company guarantee: quality sod, professionally installed
- Champion a culture of care, quality, and continuous improvement
Turf Care Integration
- Design and implement workflows for our new Turf Care service line
- Ensure seamless integration into existing operations
- Set service standards and manage initial customer rollouts
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience & Skills
- Proven leadership of service operations and/or logistics teams
- Experience in truck routing, landscape or sod installation a plus
- On-site project management, including customer and subcontractor coordination
- Experience building and managing third-party subcontractor networks
- Strong process thinker with a track record of operational optimization
- Comfortable handling customer escalations and field problem-solving
- Equipment and fleet oversight (maintenance programs, compliance, safety)
- EOS experience a plus
- Self-starter with high accountability and a bias for action
