Health Systems IT Project Manager
W2 Contract-to-Hire
Salary Range: $156,000 - $176,800 per year
Location: Martinez, CA - Hybrid Role
Job Summary:
As a Health Systems IT Project Manager, you will oversee complex IT projects, lead cross-functional teams, and coordinate system development, testing, and support. You will apply modern project management practices, including agile and waterfall methodologies, to ensure projects meet business objectives, adhere to IT standards, and effectively address user requirements and system integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams using modern work management and collaboration tools.
- Coordinate and oversee user training and ongoing support.
- Manage end-user requirements to ensure system ease of use and compatibility.
- Develop and maintain data management, integrity, security, and recovery standards.
- Oversee high-risk, strategic projects across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Coordinate project development and execution with teams, stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers.
- Liaise with user departments to assess operational needs and system feasibility.
- Supervise feasibility studies, time estimates, and progress reporting on projects.
- Direct the development, implementation, and execution of large-scale computer software applications, including system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, data communication, information processing, or a closely related field; additional qualifying experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two years).
- 4 years of full-time experience managing complex information systems projects
- 3 years of project management responsibility for large applications systems and team leadership
- Understanding of project management principles and practices
- Familiarity with system testing, analysis, security administration, and the software development life cycle
- Ability to serve as a project manager on large projects and manage information technology systems
- Competence in designing, configuring, and testing system software, as well as troubleshooting hardware and software application problems
- Experience in implementing systems such as cost accounting, ERP optimization, and enterprise provider credentialing and privileging software
- Prior experience working with EPIC systems
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with an emphasis on clear articulation of project vision, objectives, scope, timelines, and resource requirements
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and engage with project stakeholders using modern IT processes and both waterfall and agile project management approaches
