What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Clinician position at Baystate Counseling and Wellness?
We're seeking passionate psychotherapists who thrive on meaningful client work and want to join a supportive, growth-oriented practice. Our ideal candidate values professional development, embraces teamwork, and seeks work-life harmony with our 32-hour full-time schedule. We provide a steady referral stream tailored to your niche, educational opportunities, and weekly consultation meetings. We expect availability for two evening sessions until 7 pm or one evening plus one weekend day to serve our community's needs.
Candidates must be licensed or license-eligible in Massachusetts, with supervision provided at no cost for those working toward licensure. Our practice stands apart by investing in our team members, fostering a positive environment, and maintaining high standards of clinical care. We emphasize collaboration over competition and support over drama, creating an environment where therapists can focus on being their best professional selves.
Requirements:
We Are Looking For You If You:
- Love doing psychotherapy. Your clients and the work you do together energizes you.
- Don’t want to worry about where your next client is coming from. We’ve got you covered with a steady stream of referrals.
- Want to work with clients who are a good fit for your practice niche. We will support you in finding your niche and then tailor your client assignments so we are hitting your sweet spot.
- Have a passion for learning and growing as a person and a professional. Being the best takes work, we know that and support you with educational stipends and in-house trainings.
- Know that we need to support one another to be successful. We don’t do negativity or drama.
- Value being part of a team. We invest a lot into our team members and are looking for individuals who want to work for a practice that cares.
- Are committed to inspiring your coworkers, clients and our local communities. We don’t just say we do good work, we engage in the behaviors that support good work.
- Want to be the best therapist you can be. You didn’t get into this field to be ho hum, which means you feel comfortable asking for help and support. We can’t know everything and that’s why we have a team of incredible admins and clinicians to lean on.
- Are available to work two evenings until 7 pm or one evening and one weekend day. We focus on meeting the needs of all our community members and after school and work are the most requested times for therapy.
- Want work-life harmony. We know you need time for you and we want you to have that. Our full-time work week is 32 hours.
- Want more than the status quo mental health practice.
- Are licensed or license eligible in the State of Massachusetts. We have weekly consultation meetings to support our clinical team members and offer supervision toward licensure at no cost for our license eligible team members.
Benefits:
- Reimbursement: We believe in paying a fair and competitive wage and in exchange we offer our employees a ton of support and flexibility. We will support, encourage and help pay for you to develop your approved area of specialization.
- We encourage you to grow your clinical skills and be more than a sit and chat therapist
- We market you so you become known as an authority and resource in our local communities in our field.
- We can fill your caseload as long as you know how to retain a client.
- We do things for our team members because we care, not because we have to.
- We do all the un-fun stuff that makes the business run (billing, client screening, insurance verification, answering the phone, marketing, buying supplies so it's always in the office waiting for you like coffee, tissues and toilet paper!)
- Time Off: Full time and part time staff receive paid time off and paid sick time.
