Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Youth Soccer Instructor to lead after-school soccer sessions for elementary school students. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of soccer fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating a positive, supportive, and fun environment for young athletes. The role involves teaching basic soccer skills, promoting teamwork, and encouraging active participation in a structured after-school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging, age-appropriate soccer drills and activities focused on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Teach the basic fundamentals of soccer, including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and positioning.
- Organize small games and scrimmages to help students apply learned skills in a team setting.
- Supervise and manage children during soccer sessions, ensuring safety and maintaining a fun, high-energy atmosphere.
- Plan and execute weekly lesson plans based on the age and skill level of participants, ensuring variety and progression.
- Foster an environment of inclusion, where every child feels motivated to participate and grow.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members.
- Provide individual feedback to students to encourage improvement and positive growth.
- Address any behavioral or safety concerns with professionalism and care.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by following safety protocols and maintaining a safe playing environment.
- Set up and break down soccer equipment (goals, cones, balls, etc.) before and after each session.
- Be alert and proactive in addressing any potential safety issues during the session.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children, especially in a sports or coaching role.
- Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, rules, and techniques.
- Ability to teach and explain soccer skills in a clear and engaging manner.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, approachable attitude.
- Patience and the ability to work with children of varying skill levels.
- Ability to encourage teamwork and sportsmanship in a group setting.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass a background check and work well in a collaborative team environment.
Compensation:
$45.00 - $55.00 per hour, based on experience and performance.
Paid per session.
