Job Summary:
Ben Bellucci Academy (BBA) is looking for an energetic and skilled Soccer Coach to lead after-school sessions for elementary school students. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of soccer basics, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine passion for fostering a positive, fun, and encouraging environment for young athletes. This role involves teaching essential soccer skills, promoting teamwork, and motivating students to actively participate in a well-structured after-school program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead dynamic and age-appropriate soccer drills and activities aimed at skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Teach fundamental soccer techniques such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and positioning.
- Organize and manage small games and scrimmages to allow students to practice skills in a team setting.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children during sessions while maintaining a fun, energetic atmosphere.
- Design and implement weekly lesson plans tailored to the age and skill levels of participants, with attention to variety and progress.
- Create an inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to participate and develop.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other team members.
- Offer personalized feedback to students to support their growth and improvement.
- Address any safety or behavioral concerns with professionalism and care.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe environment, following safety protocols.
- Set up and pack away soccer equipment (goals, cones, balls, etc.) before and after each session.
- Be vigilant and proactive in identifying potential safety concerns during each session.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with children, particularly in a sports or coaching role.
- Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Ability to teach soccer skills in an engaging and understandable manner.
- Excellent communication skills with a positive, friendly demeanor.
- Patience and the ability to work with children at various skill levels.
- Strong ability to encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass a background check and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Compensation:
- $35.00 - $55.00 per hour, based on experience and performance.
- Paid per session.
