Job Purpose
Compliance and Operations specialist, with the ability to funnel regulatory advice from within the organization to licensing partners, to meet BBC Policies and goals to include Manufacturing Guideline compliance and Sustainability.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $90,000k. This does not include other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
In this role you will:
- Implement and communicate new processes, standards and policy(s) to local team members as well and licensing partners as applicable.
- Identify and implement potential business process enhancements to facilitate efficient operations.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with members of the US Licensing team, legal teams, and London based BBC teams including Sustainability, Ethical Policy, Brand Protection and Finance, to ensure risks are identified and corporate responsibilities are adhered to.
- Handle complex cases and supervises the work of others in the team, including oversight of gathering and retaining documentation received from licensees.
- Support BBC Policy training as needed, both within and outside the organization (to licensing partners).
- Draft and review documentation, internal memos and external communications, with sensitivity to confidentiality requirements, and the exercising of commercial judgment.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all reporting deadlines.
- Assist with development and management of departmental budget.
- Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge of developments in a discrete area and advise of any implications for the BBC.
- Assist the Vice President Licensing Administration and Operations on planning, organizing and managing of work activities across department as well as to licensing partners.
- Manage a Compliance/Operations Assistant to provide specialist advice and assistance to clients in discrete area of expertise, in support of role and BBC objectives and policies.
- Familiarity with US Customs/Border issues regarding importation of licensed goods, with the ability to draft personal shipping authorization letters unique to individual licensee scenarios.
- Ability to appropriately elevate more complex matters.
- Specialist in discrete area with substantial experience within their area of specialism.
- Significant experience of handling client relationships and advising at all levels of an organization including senior management.
- Possess a high level of commitment to detail.
- Willing to perform related duties as they arise.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to confidently clarify complex issues and concepts for non-specialists.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
- Ability to manage diverse workstreams and work under pressure, applying commercial judgement to make critical judgements at very short notice.
- Shows initiative, commitment and flexibility when faced with obstacles.
- Motivated to develop a compliance team and to share knowledge across the team to meet BBC Policies.
- Excellent computer skills to include proficiency in Excel, Word, Adobe and Outlook, along with the ability to learn additional software/data management programs.
- Experience of working within licensing or manufacture of consumer products, or in a compliance role therefor.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively as applicable.
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
