Our new dental office in River Vale, NJ, is opening Spring 2025, and we are looking for a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. The position will start with training at our Montvale, NJ office and transition to River Vale upon its opening. We have TWO openings: one for an experienced dental assistant and another for someone new to the field. Salary will be based on experience. The position is full-time, with hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM weekdays, 1 Saturday a month from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and one weekday off if preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medical coding.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-op care.
- Manage appointments and assist with front desk duties.
- Use four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
- Follow infection control and aseptic procedures.
- Assist with prosthodontic procedures.
- Stay updated on medical terminology for effective communication.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records, and coding is a plus.
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health systems is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks.
- Certification in dental assisting preferred but not required.
