ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret required documents and drawings, specifications, write reports and correspondence and speak effectively before a group of customers, or employees of organization
- High skill level in Windows, Excel, Word and Accubid
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Manage multiple tasks, produce quality work and meet deadlines
- 3 year experience estimating preferred in commercial electrical contracting
MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Draft/design lay-outs and drawings of power distributions, lighting, communications, and controls
- Apply knowledge of mathematical formulas and physical law and use conventional and computerized work aids to make calculations.
- Prepare/review all bids and estimated utilization and costs using Accubid software
- Review of bid from start to finish:
- Coordinate bids with Bid Committee, Controller and Project Managers to keep track of costs on projects versus estimate.
- Follow-up on bid once submitted and assist in negotiation to obtain bid
- Develop and complete pre-bid and pre-construction check-list
- Establish maximum equipment/employee utilization
- Outline schedule of workers, materials, equipment, subcontractors on numerous simultaneous projects
- Process change order requests and pricing
- Keep a running log of all email and formal correspondence on each project
- Work with Project Managers to coordinate jobs and changes; attending pre-construction meeting
- Complete project review and analysis
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
