Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic employee-owned team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the construction process by providing accurate cost estimates for electrical projects. This position requires a strong understanding of construction management and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively. The Estimator will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure that all estimates align with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects based on project plans and specifications.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate pricing and timely submission of bids.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary information for estimating.
- Utilize construction estimating software, including Bluebeam, to create comprehensive estimates.
- Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary goals.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve favorable pricing.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating, particularly in electrical projects.
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction site operations and management practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail in cost control measures.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam or similar tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- A background in electrical work or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
