Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide direct patient care, including psychiatric evaluations and medication management, while also engaging in public behavioral health education initiatives. As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will examine, diagnose, and create treatment plans for patients, participate in emergency services, and contribute to program evaluation and grant applications. Key Responsibilities:
- Examine, diagnose, and create treatment plans for patients with mental health and/or addiction medicine concerns.
- Provide direct patient care, including psychiatric evaluations and medication management services.
- Participate in emergency services to offer rapid aid during emotional crises.
- Ensure comprehensive follow-up care for all clients.
- Join client staffing meetings to identify problems and establish treatment goals.
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and staff development activities.
- Support management needs, such as data collection and program evaluation.
- Engage in public and community behavioral health education initiatives.
- Complete psychiatric evaluations and medication follow-up appointments in a timely manner.
- Offer medical/psychiatric consultation to internal staff and external entities as requested.
- Collaborate and provide support to assigned Nurse Practitioners, fellows, residents, and students.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of a residency program in psychiatry
- Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry or child and adolescent psychiatry
- Valid medical license to practice in the applicable state/province
Additional Qualifications:
- Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, and abuse/neglect.
- Valid driver’s license in state of residency with an acceptable driving record.
- Must not be under any formal disciplinary action by state board(s).
Physical Requirements:
- The role requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity is needed to use hands and fingers for writing, typing, and manipulating controls.
- Must be able to reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally, the employee may need to walk or run up and down stairs during crises or emergencies.
- The work environment can be stressful and fast-paced.
