SpecPro Sustainment & Environmental is seeking a Cost Estimator to provide cost engineering support for large water resource projects. The Cost Estimator will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and validating cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and industry standards. This role involves utilizing cost analysis tools, collaborating with engineering teams, and applying best practices in cost estimation to support infrastructure development efforts.

Duties/Responsibilities:
The Cost Estimator will be responsible for overall cost estimation activities, including preparing and validating cost estimates for large water resource projects. This includes leveraging cost engineering methodologies to develop detailed estimates, reviewing and analyzing cost data to ensure accuracy, and applying industry standards and best practices in construction cost estimating. The role involves collaborating with project teams, engineers, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive cost assessments, as well as utilizing advanced estimating tools and software for cost calculations. Additionally, the Cost Estimator will ensure estimates align with federal, state, and local regulations and support budgeting and project planning efforts. The position requires expertise in cost engineering certification standards and national cost estimating methodologies to enhance project accuracy and efficiency.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Tri-Services Cost Engineering Certification (Engineer, Consultant, Engineering Technician) or certification by other National Cost Estimating Organizations.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in construction cost estimating for large water resource projects.
Strong knowledge of cost estimation principles, methodologies, and industry standards.
Proficiency in cost estimation tools and software.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Experience in developing and reviewing cost breakdowns and estimates for construction projects.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team-oriented environment.
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum ten (10) years of construction cost estimating experience, specifically for large water resource projects.
Relevant cost engineering certifications required.
Experience with cost analysis software and methodologies.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an office and field environment, including occasional site visits.
Ability to perform desk work for extended periods, including sitting and using a computer.
Capability to travel as needed for project site assessments and stakeholder meetings.
Work Environment:
Primarily operates in an office setting with occasional fieldwork.
May involve exposure to construction sites, varying weather conditions, and physical site inspections.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, contractors, and government agencies..
