We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Entry Level Manufacturing Intern to join our Operations and Automation team at the Birmingham Automation Center located in Pelham, AL.
The Manufacturing Intern will provide essential support to our Operations and Automation teams in receiving, assembling, wiring, and shipping industrial automation, sensors, and automated valve packages. This position is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art, air-conditioned manufacturing environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent responsiveness, organizational skills, communication abilities, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency. Ideal candidates are pursuing an associate's degree in PLC's, instrument and electrical, or general manufacturing. Forklift certification is a plus.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Support the Operations and Automation teams in receiving, assembling, wiring, and shipping industrial automation, sensors, and automated valve packages.
- Maintain open and effective communication with team members.
- Adhere to all safety standards and protocols.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery as required (training provided).
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing process.
Qualifications and Skills
- Current enrollment in an associate's degree in PLC's, instrument and electrical, or general manufacturing.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Superior communication skills.
- High level of responsiveness and a sense of urgency.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
