Head of Cross-Border Americas - Executive Director
Role: Head of Cross-Border Americas is a Leader and coordinator across all relevant BBVA stakeholders to enhance global cross-border business efforts in the Americas region. Responsibilities include establishing XB strategic and annual plans, identifying and evaluating business opportunities, establishing governance and processes to monitor their execution, following up new onboardings and important deals and resolving issues, fostering collaborative initiatives, and driving strategic projects to drive growth and strengthen the bank's position in key markets.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic and annual planning: Develop and implement strategic plans and annual XB budgets, and client portfolios to support them, define specific KPIs, and manage revenue and profitability targets aligned with local and global banking teams to achieve cross-border business goals.
- Project management: Identify, create and execute local, regional and global projects needed to drive more cross-border business
- Deepening Client Focus: Ensure alignment with related teams within the group to enhance client relationships, identify business opportunities with cross-border clients, and drive new initiatives to support growth.
- Manage and coordinate Relationships: Act as a common link for a close and fluid relationship between local and global bankers, sectors, and products, ensuring seamless collaboration across regions and taking advantage of each opportunity.
- Team collaboration: Facilitate and promote local and global team pitches/visits. Prepare and coordinate updated info for ad hoc pitches based on the client's needs/interests and our global/local banking capabilities. This role needs to make sure that Product and Sector teams are aligned in identifying the potential business, based on a comprehensive client view.
- Subsidiary Coordination: Coordinate relationships between global bankers and subsidiaries in the region.
- Deal Support: Assist local and global teams if issues arise on any deal-related topic, incl. but not limited to risk management, financial program needs, deal execution, New Business Committee approvals, legal agreements (ISDA, etc), and resolution of bottlenecks in key cross-border business operations.
- Global perspective: Promote best practices across geographies by capitalizing on a global vision, ensuring consistency and improvement in cross-border banking efforts.
- Operational alignment: Act as a liaison to ensure coordination and alignment between global banking strategies and local market execution to support cross-border business success.
“XB Champion Americas” profile: is an ED with 10 years experience with knowledge of BBVA internal processes regarding client relationship management, onboarding, PF approval, etc.

Role location: USA (NYC)

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $230,000 to $270,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
