SFT Trader - Repo Trader - Executive Director
Responsible for managing, building and expanding the Securities Financing Transactions (SFT) businesses for BBVA Securities Inc (BSI) and BBVA SA
Responsibilities:
● Grow BBVA’s SFT client business with the existing product offering in US Treasury securities, in particular, “specials”
● Develop new business by either expanding existing product capabilities or adding new products in the future like agency MBS
● Work closely with the SFT trading and sales teams in the different geographies
● Manage SFT positions and risks: liquidity, balance sheet, rates, currency, credit, collateral, etc.
● Collaborate closely with middle and back office on settlement and operational issues
● Work with Engineering, Legal, Business Processes, Risk, Middle and Back Office on designing and building SFT infrastructure in BSI or BBVA SA
● Help cover shorts and lend out long positions of the Secondary Credit Desk
● Train junior members of the team
Requirements
● In depth SFT knowledge related to US Treasuries, particularly “specials” (O/N and term)
● Experience using interest rate derivatives (swaps or futures) and FX instruments (spot and swaps) for hedging purposes
● Proven risk manager, prudent hedging and trading strategies
● Strong communication skills and strong leadership skills
- Experience quoting all types of repos: term, evergreen, extendibles, etc.
● Technical and analytical
● Minimum 7 years of work experience in the repo market
● Series 7 and 63
Preferred experience/skills
● Experience quoting products like bond forwards, total return swaps and T-locks
● Spanish language

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $160,000 to $275,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
