Irrigation and Lighting Project Manager

The Project Manager for Irrigation and Lighting implements and oversees the production process of landscape irrigation and lighting construction projects from pre-planning through the final completion.
Responsibilities:
- Direct daily activities for multiple irrigation and lighting crews over multiple job sites, participate in team activities, establish task priorities, manage crew hours, schedule and track work assignments, provide guidance, and ensure the availability of resources.
- Responsible for coordination of all phases of landscape irrigation and lighting construction activities to meet or exceed both project and company profitability goals.
- Drive daily in a company vehicle with or without passengers.
- Plan and manage production schedules to ensure 100% on-time delivery of all contracted work.
- Inspect onsite work activities of company and subcontractor crews to ensure work is being performed correctly and to company standards.
- Identify, negotiate and solve site/design problems and make changes in the field as needed.
- Correspond with clients, salespersons, client relations manager, field manager, foreman, purchasing team etc., on material status and production planning in a professional manner.
- Review project plan and details with salesperson, irrigation and lighting team members and support personnel via office meetings, site visits, emails, phone calls etc.
- Understand and apply order fulfillment processes in an efficient manner to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
- Assist with permitting activities as needed.
- Plan for and procure special equipment as needed on a site-by-site basis.
- Review and approve time records, work orders, change orders, billing and accounts receivable in coordination with appropriate departments.
- Coordinate and assist in applicable safety training programs to achieve safety goals.
- Attend PM, Safety, and GC weekly/bi-weekly meetings.
- Utilize appropriate technologies to facilitate information management and record-keeping.
- Communicate and resolve needs, issues, safety concerns, and/or problems to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain good communication, high safety standards, and positive relations with coworkers, customers, and the public.
- Understand and promote the importance of environmental stewardship/conservation and respect for natural resources in conjunction with company goals and objectives as they relate to client desires and sustainability initiatives.
- Represent the Company in a positive manner befitting our brand and image.
- Adhere to and uphold all Company safety practices, procedures, and policies.
- Promote a safe and positive work environment at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- 2 years or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the green, irrigation, or lighting industries.
- Extensive knowledge of landscape construction/irrigation/lighting techniques including but not limited to: hardscapes, irrigation, grading, drainage, planting, and lighting.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering structural grading drainage landscape and general construction drawings.
- General knowledge of village codes and permitting is necessary.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the safety issues regulations and procedures utilized in public and private works activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook is required experience in Aspire is preferred.
- Candidates must have a valid local driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
- Required to pass a post-offer DOT medical physical and drug screen and ongoing periodic DOT physical and drug screen according to DOT guidelines.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds repetitively and frequently perform physical field work.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients customers managers coworkers and the general public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must be able to communicate in English including: read write and with the use of computers and phones Bi-lingual Spanish is preferred.
- Must be willing to drive between IL and WI on a frequent basis.
