Job Title : Alarm Technician
Pay Rate : $35 / hr on W2
Location : Branchburg, NJ 08876
Duration : 12 months
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician monitors building alarms and serves as the first responder for various facility systems. This role involves evaluating alarms, troubleshooting basic issues, and ensuring backup power systems work properly during outages or severe weather. The technician will also drive a company vehicle to off-site locations and participate in specialized fire alarm training.
Key Responsibilities
Alarm Monitoring :
Monitor building alarms and respond as the first point of contact.
- Evaluate triggers from systems like boilers, chillers, HVAC, fire alarms, gas / leak detectors, process water, and refrigeration systems.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance :
Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
Documentation :
Keep accurate logs of alarm events, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
Vehicle & Equipment Use :
Operate a company vehicle for travel to off-site warehouses.
Specialized Training :
Participate in on-site fire alarm response training.
Qualifications
Education & Experience :
High School Diploma required.
Technical Skills :
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Additional Skills :
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Licensing :
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a company pick-up truck.
