Position Overview :
Salesforce is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst - Revenue Strategy to join our Revenue Strategy team. In this dynamic role, you will lead the New Product Initiatives (NPIs) for various products and ensure ASC 606 compliance across the organization. This role is crucial for aligning our revenue recognition strategies with Salesforce’s policies and ensuring that we comply with the latest accounting standards.
As an Analyst, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, finance, legal, and business units, to guide them in implementing the correct revenue recognition treatments, pricing models, and billing structures for new products. You will be at the forefront of optimizing revenue processes in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and manage NPIs (New Product Initiatives) for Salesforce’s new product launches and ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
Review and approve SOX field values for products as part of NPI responsibilities, ensuring accurate reporting for internal controls.
Guide internal teams on revenue recognition, pricing, and billing models during NPI meetings, ensuring alignment with Salesforce’s Revenue Recognition Policy.
Assist in monthly SOX controls, working with the revenue accounting team to update various reports and documentation.
Provide support to deal teams and internal stakeholders by responding to product-related queries and providing necessary documentation, including decks and presentations, to support responses.
Work independently to drive NPIs from start to finish, ensuring timely product launches without being a blocker to the process.
Ensure that all revenue treatments are aligned with compliance standards and internal controls as outlined by Salesforce policies.
Support special projects related to revenue recognition or revenue strategy, as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience :
5 years of relevant experience in revenue recognition, technical accounting, or a similar role, preferably in the high-tech industry.
Strong understanding of ASC 606 and its application in real-world scenarios.
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven ability to work independently and drive projects to completion without constant follow-up.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with SOX controls and understanding of internal controls and audit processes.
Team player who thrives in a collaborative, dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with Salesforce revenue policies and the application of revenue recognition standards in cloud-based environments.
Familiarity with SOX compliance, financial reporting, and related audit processes.
Knowledge of financial tools or systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Oracle).
