Job Title : CDL Heavy Equipment Operator
Pay Rate : $19.78 per hour
Contract Period : 2 Years
Shift : 1st Shift
Work Schedule : Standard
Location : Phoenix, AZ 85007
Position Overview
This position handles all CDL-related needs for the agency. The CDL Heavy Equipment Operator & Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating a range of trash and heavy equipment vehicles, performing routine mechanical repairs, and ensuring proper maintenance and safety of equipment and crew. The role includes decision-making on work methods within project guidelines and requires a proactive, self-managed approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation :
Operate trash vehicles such as compactors and roll-off units.
Perform routine mechanical repairs on construction and heavy equipment.
Supervise and train less skilled operators.
Maintain records of equipment usage, trash dumps, vehicle mileage, and other project-related information.
Assist other tradesmen, such as carpenters, mechanics, and plumbers, as needed.
Qualifications
Possession of a valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and the ability to maintain it.
