Job Description :
BCforward is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Technician to join the Maize Transformation Team within Crop Transformation Systems in Biotechnology / Trait Discovery and Optimization .
The selected candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory-based tasks related to maize transformation and genome editing. This role requires adherence to standard operating procedures to ensure high-quality transgenic and genome-edited events , supporting trait discovery, optimization, and product development programs .
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare plant explants and execute transformation processes.
- Conduct sub-culturing and tissue selection for transgenic and genome-edited plant production.
- Regenerate tissue to produce high-quality transgenic maize plants .
- Maintain accurate electronic and legal laboratory notebooks for all research work.
- Summarize research findings, document results, and identify areas for improvement.
- Follow all safety, ergonomic, and compliance standards within the laboratory.
- Organize daily workflow efficiently to meet project timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
