Job Description: Lab Assistant

Worksite Address: 7000 Northwest 62nd Avenue, Johnston, IA 50131

Duration: 04 Months Contract
Shift/Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional 7:00 AM start times

Pay Rate: $23.00 on W2

Position Purpose:

The Assay Development and Characterization (ADC) team is responsible for developing and optimizing various assay platforms to identify and characterize hits, actives, leads, and construct performance. The Lab Assistant will provide support to the ADC team with experimental execution and general laboratory operations tasks, as directed by laboratory and project leads.

Responsibilities:

• Perform duties in accordance with Corteva safety practices and procedures.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain laboratory facilities and equipment according to laboratory standards.
• Perform molecular biology techniques such as plasmid preps, quantification, and digestion.
• Assist in plant assays, including sampling, culture maintenance, and plant care.
• Work in controlled environments to perform various plant care tasks.
• Utilize lab instruments to analyze samples and record results with precision and attention to detail.
• Follow sterile techniques for lab duties.
• Perform standard lab cleaning procedures.

Education and Experience:

• Associates (2-year degree) required.
• New graduates with laboratory experience are encouraged to apply.
