Job Description
Job Title: QA Lab Technician
Location: Albert Lea, MN 56007
Contract Length: 3 Months Contract with High possibility for Extension (Based on your performance in the contract period)
Wage: Hourly, W2 ONLY
Shift Timings:
2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (8-9 hours/day), overtime as needed, including weekend work possible.
Please note: The position involves more “floor work” than lab work.

Our retail customers come to us from traditional grocers, supermarkets and warehouse clubs to provide their meat and deli needs.
We provide innovative solutions for their fresh meat case, frozen meat departments, deli counters, and more.
This position work in the production area of the plant, performing tasks to ensure products produced meet established food safety and quality parameters.
50% - Perform Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) checks for assigned areas, collect samples for microbiological analysis, inspect incoming raw material and outbound product shipments, and verify food safety and quality paperwork (HACCP, SSOP, GMP, etc.)
25% - Monitor assigned area for food safety and quality issues (employee hygiene, facility issues, potential contamination, food defense, etc.)
15% - Perform equipment calibrations and data entry. Place non-compliant production on hold/release product as needed and communicate with Operations.
10% - Provide support for new products testing, aide in the development and execution of process and food safety programs.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in reading/writing in English
- Basic math skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Must work well in a team environment
- Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Quality Assurance, laboratory experience
- Previous experience in food processing or meat processing
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Associates or Bachelors degree in food science or related field
Additional Information
Work in both cold and hot environments, lift up to 40 pounds, Walking, standing, weekend work required, irregular hours, (8-9 hours/day), overtime as needed. Travel is limited.
