Qualifications:
on testing of electromechanical and/or fluidic systems • Experience writing test protocols and reports • Experience with commonly used electronic test equipment, such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and data acquisition systems • Ability to work with other functions and facilitate activities from a systems and integration perspective • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are essential • An ideal candidate for this position will have a profound attention to detail, systematic problem solving skills, a strong desire to learn and acquire new skills and knowledge with a strong bias for action • Working knowledge of international standards applicable to medical devices, including ISO13485, ISO14971, and IEC60601 desired • Experience with medical devices and in regulated environments preferred • Familiarity with materials used in medical devices (best practices, biocompatibility) preferred • Experience in modeling, simulations, and sensitivity analyses desired • Experience with SolidWorks is desired • Experience with LabView is desired • Experience with reliability engineering and analysis techniques, including data acquisition, analysis, design of experiments (DOE) and statistical methods preferred Responsibilities: Reporting to the R&D Staff Member, the candidate will be responsible for the following: • Generate and execute testing protocols for electromechanical fluid delivery systems • Specify, develop, and implement test systems and/or test equipment to complete necessary test activities • Develop robust test methods and design test fixtures to ensure that selected materials and designs are accurately evaluated against the specification and requirements • Perform parametric analyses to understand design tradeoffs • Conceptualize and communicate key elements of experimental design and results • Analyze system requirements to determine testability, completeness and consistency • Assemble and evaluate rapid prototype models in order to assess technical feasibility of various solutions • Support staff and quality engineers during troubleshooting and root cause analysis • Frequently use and apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques as they relate to the test process QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED- • Thorough understanding of design principles, mechanical testing, and measurement systems • Ability to understand challenges quickly and organize multiple projects concurrently, and must adapt rapidly to changing work assignments • Ability to organize and present large amounts of data in a clear and concise manner • Demonstrated engineering and design skills (CAD/CAE) • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, and influencing skills • Results driven and action oriented • Careful attention to detail to ensure accurate and precise execution of work tasks and procedures • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisor input, and able to communicate and discuss technical issues and significant findings of evaluations performed • Disciplined and well organized in documentation in a regulated environment • Knowledge of ASTM drafting standards including Y14.100 and Y14.5 • Experience with collecting, recording, and interpreting da
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the R&D Manager and working closely with a dedicated cross-functional project team, the candidate will design and develop methods and fixtures for product assembly, testing, and inspection of medical device components. The candidate must be aware of and follow Corporate and Divisional Quality systems and comply with all regulatory and safety guidelines. Specific responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) the following: • Using 3D CAD design software, design fixtures for assembly, testing, and inspection, and work with internal or external services to manufacture fixtures • Confirm product capabilities by designing feasibility and test methods and systems • Evaluate new test equipment if required, and participate in the verification and validation of equipment performance • Develop and conduct measurement systems analyses (gage R&R studies) on test methods and equipment • Create, review, and revise detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies and drawings of
