Job Title : Senior Investigator
Pay Rate : $28.55 per hour
Location : Phoenix, AZ 85007
Shift : 1st Shift
Work Schedule : Standard (8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM)
Estimated Regular Hours / Week : 40.00
Position Overview
The Senior Investigator is responsible for examining allegations of fraud and abuse within the Department of Economic Security (DES) programs and services, as well as misconduct by clients, employees, contractors, vendors, and providers. In addition, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) partners with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to conduct administrative and criminal investigations into benefits fraud.
Key Responsibilities
Investigative Research & Evidence Gathering :
Review records, policies, procedures, online investigative resources, and public information sources to obtain evidence relating to allegations of fraud.
- Network with other investigative agencies to supplement information and evidence.
- Conduct field investigations, interview suspects and witnesses, serve subpoenas, and perform surveillance to gather evidence.
- Maintain investigation records to ensure the proper chain of custody and evidence procedures are followed.
Reporting & Testimony :
Prepare detailed reports that present complex technical matters clearly and concisely, including all evidence—both inculpatory and exculpatory.
Collaboration & Communication :
Attend unit, division, and one-on-one meetings with supervisors, as well as training sessions to stay current on investigative techniques.
