Sr. Civil Design Engineer

Summary:

BCforward is currently looking for a Senior Civil Design Engineer. This position is responsible for the performance and/or direction of specific, complex engineering work on diverse civil site design projects across market segments and with varying degrees of complexity. Specific engineering work may include but is not limited to the following: client communication, construction document (plan and specifications) and technical reports preparation and/or oversight; engineering analyses, opinions of probable costs, and supporting calculations; independently evaluate, select, and recommend and/or perform design solutions, procedures, criteria, and quality control/quality assurance activities to deliver a quality design product.

Position Requirements:

· Demonstrated high quality complex design, excellent presentation, written, verbal and graphics communication skills are essential.

· Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software; knowledge of site grading and drainage design (storm sewer and detention); experience in pond modeling; proficiency in utility design including sanitary sewer, potable water and storm sewer.

· Ability to collaborate with a diverse project team.

· Proficiency in written and verbal communication including technical report writing.

· Understand and apply department and office standards and procedures.

· Organize, prioritize, and perform work assignments with minimal supervision.

· Ability to independently evaluate, select and recommend and/or perform design solutions, procedures, criteria, and quality control/quality assurance activities to deliver a quality design product.

· Excellent client management and interpersonal skills.

· Excellent team leadership/mentoring skills and proven success in the performance on and/or directing of teams in all project phases required. Project teaming and collaboration experience with multiple entities.

· Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, follow-up, and time management skills.

· Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline oriented.

· Ability to interact effectively with multi-discipline customers, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization.

Education and Experience:

· 10 years of total related experience

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering (B.S.C.E.)

· Registered Engineer (P.E.) Preferred

· LEED AP is a plus

· AutoCAD 3D proficiency is a plus

· Technical coaching/mentoring experience

· Diverse civil site design projects across market segments with varying degrees of complexity
