Job Description:
This is a contract-to-hire position for a proven, top-producing Landman. The Landman will start as a contractor for six (6) months and, if proven to be an A-player, will transition to a full-time employee with the opportunity to gain an equity stake in the company. This position is responsible for conducting title examination and properly documenting and reporting the findings in a clear and consistent format. The Candidate must be seeking a long-term, in-house position. A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Land Management or Business Administration. A minimum of 3 years of experience running title is a firm requirement. Participation in the local Professional Landman Association is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Identification of mineral and royalty owners within assigned areas
- Ownership entry into land database using guidelines, training, and leadership support
- Clear communication of potential title issues and possible results with multiple departments and team members, including those who may not have significant title experience
- Review and interpret various documents and contracts including Mineral Deeds, Oil & Gas Leases, and other title documents.
- Assist with Title Review and other additional tasks or projects as needed
Job Requirement Essentials:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of running title experience
- Strong understanding of the mineral acquisitions and the Oil and Gas industry
- Ability to interpret documents regarding conveyance of property with regard to land, minerals and well ownership
- Proficient in title and curative
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written
- Highly proficient in Word and Excel
- Highly skilled in grammar, spelling, and basic algebra
