Key Responsibilities :
- Manage legal aspects of client file transfers, discovery requests, and subpoenas related to firm matters.
- Respond to discovery requests and subpoenas, and assist with internal investigations.
- Implement preservation holds and manage data preservation, collection, and review protocols in collaboration with Information Governance and eDiscovery departments.
- Oversee scoping and review of firm records for use in discovery and file transfer obligations.
- Work with the Litigation / eDiscovery department on project management, resource allocation, and vendor management.
- Draft / review preservation hold memos and manage the firm’s implementation and resolution of legal holds.
- Provide guidance to the firm’s file review attorneys to ensure accurate client file transfers.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and participate in discovery motion practice, including drafting briefs.
- Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and practices related to discovery and client file transfers.
- Provide strategic legal advice to internal teams on litigation, risk management, and loss prevention matters.
- Ensure compliance with current developments in law and regulation regarding discovery and risk management.
- Support the Office of the General Counsel in aligning internal stakeholders with legal processes and procedures.
- Identify litigation risks, report to the Office of the General Counsel, and formulate effective responses.
- Assist in the implementation of risk management projects and strategic plans.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, integrity, and professional ethics.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Office of the General Counsel.
