The successful candidate will manage a semi-autonomous caseload with potentially high exposure, representing clients in civil litigation matters. This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility to work remotely after an initial in-person onboarding period. The attorney will oversee all phases of litigation from case inception to verdict, and be responsible for trial preparation, client relations, and legal research.Duties : Manage civil litigation cases from beginning to end, including case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom representation, and post-trial motions.Prepare and organize legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other relevant materials.Conduct legal research, prepare case summaries, and review case precedents.Interview clients and witnesses, draft statements, and maintain detailed communication records.Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations, ensuring effective advocacy in all proceedings.Regularly update clients on case progress, providing critical case updates and strategic advice.Stay informed on relevant changes to laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly.Provide trial preparation expertise, including jury selection, witness preparation, and expert selection.Maintain active communication with the legal team to ensure timely case resolution.Requirements : Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil litigation with proven success in managing a diverse caseload.Must have first-chair trial experience in at least 10 jury trials and 5 bench trials taken to verdict in California State Superior Court.Strong background in managing all aspects of civil trials, including legal research, motion practice, and courtroom presentations.Expertise in handling complex legal matters in areas such as tort, personal injury, public entity law, government tort law, and contract law.Experience in drafting and executing motions, conducting depositions, and trial preparation.In-depth knowledge of both state and federal court systems and procedures.Proven ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team environment.Education : Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications : Active membership in the California State Bar.Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to handle complex legal research and make sound legal decisions.Skilled in trial preparation and court procedures.Proficient in working with legal software and document management tools.Job Location : Citrus Heights, CA (Hybrid role with remote flexibility after initial in-person onboarding).#J-18808-Ljbffr
