Job Overview:
A Chicago-based law firm with a national presence in high-profile, complex litigation seeks a licensed attorney with a solid background in commercial dispute resolution. The firm is engaging a recruiting partner to identify a legal professional who can support ongoing litigation matters with precision, strategy, and a client-first approach. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to work on significant commercial litigation matters, with the potential to transition into a long-term or full-time role based on performance and firm needs.

Duties:

• Oversee and manage assigned litigation cases from inception to resolution

• Draft and review legal pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and other court filings

• Represent clients in hearings, court appearances, depositions, and trials

• Maintain consistent, professional, and empathetic communication with clients

• Collaborate with internal legal teams to ensure cohesive litigation strategies

• Contribute to the development of case theories, litigation tactics, and legal arguments

• Conduct legal research and synthesize findings into actionable advice

• Support ongoing firm efforts to deliver high-impact litigation outcomes

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Illinois

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial litigation or equivalent litigation experience

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and priorities efficiently

• Familiarity with trial preparation, evidentiary procedures, and litigation protocols

• Strong writing and oral advocacy skills

• Proven capacity to work both independently and in a team environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Illinois Bar in good standing

Skills:
