Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and executing litigation strategies, including pre-trial motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Engage in client-facing interactions, offering legal insights and contributing to case development.
- Take depositions and manage witness preparation.
- Support senior attorneys in courtroom proceedings, including attending trials as a second chair.
- Draft, revise, and finalize legal documents, including briefs, motions, and pleadings, ensuring clarity and precision.
- Participate in case strategy meetings and contribute fresh ideas and solutions to complex legal problems.
- Perform detailed legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
- Maintain accurate records of case files and correspondence, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with the firm’s team of attorneys and paralegals to maintain an efficient and effective workflow.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in litigation or a similar legal environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with an emphasis on persuasive writing and concise legal arguments.
- Ability to think critically and strategically in complex legal situations.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- High degree of professionalism and client-centered approach to legal work.
Educational Background:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- A strong academic record, with a focus on litigation and trial advocacy coursework preferred.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Admission to the Maryland State Bar or eligibility to be admitted upon hire.
- Any additional certifications in litigation or specialized legal areas are a plus but not required.
