We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Supervisory Principal to oversee the activities and operations of the Wealth Management & Institutional Division at an international bank with both US and offshore investors. This position will require a strategic and highly skilled professional to ensure that all regulatory, compliance, and operational standards are upheld across the bank's affiliates, including the Trust Department, Broker-Dealer, Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), and Wealth Management divisions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of both retail and institutional services, as well as the ability to manage the regulatory and compliance requirements for complex financial products and services.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION

Broker-Dealer Operations
As the Supervisory Principal, you will be responsible for supervising and overseeing the activities of the following divisions within the bank's wealth management and institutional services offering:
- Supervise the broker-dealer's activities, ensuring compliance with FINRA regulations, SEC rules, and other applicable laws.
- Oversee trading practices, investment advice, and client suitability within the broker-dealer division.
- Ensure that all sales activities, trading, and client interactions comply with applicable regulations.
- Supervise the activities of the RIA, ensuring compliance with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, state securities laws, and firm policies.
- Oversee portfolio management, investment strategies, and fiduciary responsibilities towards private clients.
- Monitor client suitability, advisory fees, and disclosure documents for RIA services.
- Trust Department:
- Provide oversight to the trust department, ensuring that fiduciary duties are performed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure the appropriate handling of trust accounts, including discretionary and non-discretionary investment management.
- Oversee the onboarding process for trust clients, including the suitability of investments and products for trust accounts.
- Manage the integration of investment strategies and planning for high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and institutional clients.
- Oversee the investment products and services provided to both private and institutional clients to ensure adherence to internal and regulatory standards.
- Supervise wealth management advisors to ensure that client financial needs are met, including comprehensive financial planning, retirement planning, estate planning, and other wealth services.
- Oversee the investment management, asset allocation, and risk management strategies for institutional clients, including pension funds, foundations, endowments, and other large investors.
- Ensure the bank’s services to institutional clients are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Provide oversight on trading activities, asset management, and compliance for institutional investor accounts.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
- Work closely with compliance and legal teams to ensure that all activities across the bank’s affiliates are in compliance with both domestic (FINRA, SEC) and international (MiFID II, FCA, etc.) regulations.
- Manage and enforce internal policies and procedures to prevent and address any violations of securities laws, regulations, or internal controls.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of the firm’s activities to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Provide ongoing training and guidance to employees and management on regulatory updates, compliance requirements, and internal policies.
- Supervise day-to-day activities of registered representatives, advisors, and trust officers.
- Ensure staff members adhere to ethical standards, compliance processes, and customer service expectations.
- Collaborate with other departments and divisions, including investment banking, capital markets, and legal teams, to ensure the integration of services and smooth operations across affiliates.
- Oversee reporting and reconciliation processes between the broker-dealer, RIA, trust, and wealth management units.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations (FINRA, SEC, OCC, MiFID II, etc.)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to assess and manage risk effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-jurisdictional, international environment.

PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:

Certifications/Licenses
- Series 7 (General Securities Representative)
- Series 24 (General Securities Principal)
- Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Exam) or Series 65 (Investment Advisor Representative) and Series 63 Combination
- Fiduciary certification (e.g., CFP, CFA) preferred.
- 10 years of experience in wealth management, institutional services, or a related financial services industry.
- Extensive experience in regulatory supervision, compliance, and oversight within the broker-dealer, RIA, trust, and wealth management space.
- Proven track record of overseeing complex financial products and services for both private clients and institutional investors.
- Experience working in an international banking environment with both domestic and international client bases, especially cross-border investment strategies.
- Familiarity with fiduciary duties and regulations related to wealth management and institutional investments.
- Fluency in additional languages, particularly in markets where the bank operates, is a plus.
