Senior Software Developer
Place of Performance : Mostly remote, but there would be some occasional onsite work at Ft. Meade with short notice.
7a-4p, weekends and Government Holidays off
Clearance : DoD Secret
Years of Experience : 8
Education / Certification Requirements : BS, Computer Science or Related Technical Degree and CompTIA Security Plus Cert.
Specific Duties
This position will provide DoD Spectrum development and management best practices for all Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities. This includes requirements definition and analysis, software design, code development and inspection, test and integration, deployment, user interface development testing, documentation, scheduling, and planning.
- Strong development experience in .Net, C# and Java.
- Knowledge of the SDLC process, Agile environment and Scrum teams.
- Manage a small team of developers.
- Utilize an effective, security-first Agile software development approach that leverages industry best-practices.
- Developed and delivered without the employment of intermediate staging environments, if possible, between contractor systems and government production systems.
- Developed and delivered by automating quality checks and compliance tasks through the CI / CD pipeline.
- Be consistent with applicable Application Security and Development Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Based upon a Zero Trust Architecture, as described in NIST SP 800-207.
- Maintain high-quality software code that follows a consistent style, is easily understood, is well documented, and appropriately tested.
- Test coverage shall meet or exceed 80%.
- Software is developed in accordance with established, language-specific coding standards and verified by automated linting.
- Test code is written to be efficient and provide specific, useful assertions.
- Knowledge of SATCOM / Spectrum 21 a plus
