What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - BCOMM Communications position at BCOMM Constructors, LLC?
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Construction work experience in telecommunications, leadership experience of at least two years.
- Able to manage multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities, able to effectively direct the work flow and manage crews, able to read prints.
- Able to prioritize and organize effectively
- Technical training in cable construction techniques and design preferred, industry certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E) a plus, valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Coordinate and work with utility companies for all construction related work in the right of way, including but not limited to pole transfers, relocation of plant and plant extensions.
- Supervise and evaluate construction of fiber and coax, coordinate construction efforts through in-house and contract labor for new construction and rebuild projects both aerial and underground.
- Perform site inspections for quality control and safety.
- Able to work independently, able to supervise and motivate others, able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Ensure that all financials are tracked, recorded, and reported accurately.
- Monitor contractor performance; ensure adherence to terms and conditions of agreements and ensure all personnel and contractors are adhering to local and state construction requirements and codes.
- Coordinate permitting and make-ready process.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in project management, utility industry preferred.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or other related major preferred, but not required.
- Detailed knowledge of project management fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of hardware/software for construction, focusing on MS Project and/or Primavera 6.
- Demonstrated skills in both written and oral communications; ability to compose basic as well as complex technical documents, presentations, formal letters etc
- High energy action oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment.
- Proven success in developing and maintaining internal and external relationships while effectively navigating organizational barriers.
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
- Demonstrated negotiating and decision-making skills.
- Working knowledge of project accounting practices and financial systems.
- General understanding of Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus and Unit contract pricing mechanisms.
- PMP certification aa plus
