Job Overview
At BCP Engineers & Consultants, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead our team in the design and implementation of digital systems for power uprate projects. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for determining solutions, managing resources, and preparing design deliverables.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Qualify for and fulfill the Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) role for power uprate plant modifications and be accountable for the design process from start to finish.
* Establish modification scope, system performance requirements, and testing requirements.
* Perform Owners Acceptance Reviews for design analysis, modification packages, procurement, and specifications in accordance with plant procedures.
* Manage technical supplier teams with respect to cost, schedule, and quality.
* Schedule and coordinate Engineering and station department resources to deliver and install required design change packages.
* Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
* Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing, and as-built verification.
* Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation, and any required supporting analysis.
* Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager.
* Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization.
**Qualifications:**
Required:
* BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Controls, or related Engineering or related technical degree with 3-5 years of experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.
* Minimum 1-2 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
* Availability for shift work during installation.
* Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
* Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Desired:
* Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR).
* Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification.
* Professional Engineering license.
**Minimum Years of Experience:**5 years of experience.
